Long ago women enslaved this society’s men. Some women chose to retire to isolated communities. They wanted to shed themselves of technology. They felt they were returning to an earlier golden era when humans lived at peace with nature. They created a quite, sustainable lifestyle.
Male slavery enabled this. With plentiful male slaves there was no need for heavy agricultural equipment. Gangs and herds of slave laborers spend their lives in agricultural work. Slave men plant and maintain the gardens. Other men fell trees for housing and firewood.
Under the watchful attention of their Mistress Owners the slave men exist in perpetual useful servitude.
Birth rates are variable. The need for slaves is subject to temporary fluctuations. A lively slave trade has grown up among these ecologically minded female led communities. A group of slaves may be traded for a horse or furniture or household decorations.
Men have no monetary value here but can be bartered.
